What You'll Do:

As a Director of Product Management, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, responsible for the regional profit and loss for the Driveline business segment, including developing and implementing the business plan with an objective of continually improving the profitability of the business. This business spans the range of traditional Driveline areas of automatic transmission, gear oils and off-highway fluids, to the emerging area of e-axle fluids used in electric vehicles.  You will provide leadership, strategic and tactical direction to the business with responsibility to identify resources, budgets and succession planning and will have overall accountability for the profitability of the segment product line in their region. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life. 

 

In this role, you will develop regional and functional market expertise and will communicate the market drivers and impact to the wider organization, including Strategic Marketing and other global Driveline Directors. You will develop an understanding of customers, OEMs and competitors value propositions and can create plans to strengthen Lubrizol’s market position and create greater value.

Additionally, you will work to ensure global alignment in the developing area of e-axle to ensure consistency of the market development around the world and the Lubrizol over-arching value proposition.  Viscosity Modifiers are very important ingredients in many Driveline formulas.  You will also serve as a point person for key VM suppliers to ensure corporate alignment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic vision for the business and influence direction at VP level.
  • Lead the product management organization.
  • Develop, communicate, and manage the implementation of strategic and tactical business plan.
  • Develop strong and open relationships with major stakeholders and ensure we have alignment on business plans.
  • Work with direct reports (Product Managers) and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with the business plans, forecasts and product delivery, along with ensuring an understanding of market drivers and value propositions.
  • Understand and communicate current and future market drivers and the impact on the business.
  • Understand customer, OEM and competitor value propositions, strengths and weaknesses and identify opportunities for Lubrizol.
  • Drive communication and alignment across peers as the e-axle market, and Lubrizol’s products, are developed.
  • Provide a central point of contact for key VM suppliers on a global basis, aligned with Procurement and teams, including other product areas involved with these VM materials (Engine Oils, Industrial).
  • Meet regularly with key customers to discuss market drivers and identify new value propositions which will bring increased profitability to the organization.
  • Identify customer needs and focus on delivering on agreements in a timely fashion.
  • Provide support to Sales with major customer and OEM presentations/meetings.

 

Skills That Make a Difference:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in technical or equivalent area
  • 12+ years of relevant experience, including P&L responsibility
  • 5+ years of leadership and/or management experience
  • Knowledge of products, development process, testing and proof of performance
  • Strong business development skills
  • Knowledge of market and OEM drivers
  • Strategic thinking and vision
  • Financial knowledge
