What You'll Do:

 

As a Corporate Health, Safety, Environmental & Security Risk Manager, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation by managing a comprehensive health, occupational safety, process safety, environment, and site security (HSES) risk management program. The Corporate HSES Risk Manager will provide strategic and technical leadership in the implementation and continuous improvement of the corporation’s HSES risk management program. Working closely with our subject matter experts in process safety, engineering, occupational safety, environmental, security and enterprise risk management. The Corporate HSES Risk Manager will assure HSES risks are appropriately identified, prioritized, and documented while assisting with the development and assessment of risk management strategies to assure they are effective and drive risk reduction across the organization. The Corporate HSES Risk Manager is accountable for assuring global HSES risk assessment effectiveness and that high severity/high probability risks are being mitigated through necessary prioritization, training, and resourcing. 

 

What We're Looking For:

  •  Determining and managing Lubrizol’s HSES risk profile. Ensure organization understands potential loss and impact internally and externally.
  • Overseeing the organization’s risk management strategies and processes – continuous improvement of the global HSES risk management framework that defines the scope, objectives, methodology, tools, roles, and responsibilities for identifying, prioritizing, monitoring, and reporting HSES risks across the organization.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the annual corporate HSES risk assessment process and report results to senior management.
  • Manage the relationship with external risk management stakeholders (i.e., property insurance carriers) to assure external risk assessment findings are appropriately incorporated into the overall risk management strategic plan to improve our overall loss prevention program.
  • Regularly verify the effectiveness and execution of the risk management process and tools. Develop plans for improvement, encompassing key stakeholders.
  • Engage and partner with sites, operations, and executive leadership to support cooperative responses and prioritization of risk management matters. Influence priority and focus.
  • Develop and deliver HSES risk management training and awareness programs to enhance the risk culture and competency within the organization.
  • Leverage internal subject matter expertise and external resources (e.g., AICHE, CCPS, Texas A&M) to assist with risk analysis and drive continuous improvement.
  • Use data to drive results and support intelligent risk taking.
  • Ability to travel (global) - 25%.   

 

Skills That Make a Difference: 

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering, HSES, or a related field. 
  • 7+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing.  
  • Experience in health, safety, environmental, security and process safety risk management. 
  • Knowledge and experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis methodologies.  
  • Project management experience certification considered a plus.
  • Process safety certifications considered a plus.
