What You'll Do:

 

As a Health, Safety, Environmental, & Security (HSES) Manager, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation by providing strategic and tactical leadership of the facility’s HSES and Responsible Care® programs and initiatives - ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and corporate and industry standards consistent with Lubrizol’s Corporate Philosophy, and Health, Safety, Environmental and Security policy.    

 

The HSES Manager is responsible for managing, developing, and implementing programs and initiatives for HSES compliance including management system programs. The HSES will manage personnel (exempt and non-exempt) and will provide the leadership necessary to support the facility management team and site staff members to achieve the over-arching goals of regulatory compliance and continuous improvement in HSES. This is a highly visible position requiring significant interaction with all levels of the facility organization as well as with the corporate HSES function. 

 

What We're Looking For:

  • Manage site functions related to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security - focused on safe, effective, and compliant plant operations.
  • Direct people management responsibility for safety leader(s), environmental leader(s), facility protection, and emergency response leader(s).
  • Ensure establishment of Lubrizol systems and procedures that support HSES, Operations, Human Resources and Finance programs and goals.
  • Collaborate closely with Corporate resources and local departments to align HSES procedures with Lubrizol global standards and guidelines.
  • Establish a plant culture that is responsive to the manufacturing environment and business needs through teamwork and personal responsibility/ownership of the processes.
  • Oversee talent management and employee development and promote constructive employee relations. 

 

Skills That Make a Difference: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science from an accredited university. 
  • 5+ years of experience in Health, Safety, Envrionemental & Security related leadership positions in a manufacturing facility.
  • Proven ability to effectively lead with minimal supervision, demonstrating an entrepreneurial attitude.
  • Proficient in leading the plant, providing direction, support, and development for manufacturing teams in the plant.
  • Knowledge of batch and continuous chemical processing.
  • Can effectively work in a matrix organization.
  • Strong communication and networking skills.
  • Strong PC skills, including MS Office software; strong understanding of SAP.
