What You'll Do:

As a Specialty Packaging Shift Supervisor, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, responsible for ensuring that production goals are achieved in the Specialty Packaging area.  You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life. What We're Looking For:

  • Understand and comply with all applicable internal Lubrizol and external health, safety, security, and environmental policies.
  • Provide work assignments to meet all production goals in Specialty Packaging department. 
  • Obtains materials and/or components for the department to maintain an uninterrupted workflow. Proactively look to forecast material/component needs and shortages in advance.
  • Participate and develop planning processes to ensure work is available and scheduled to keep all operators productive for the entirety of their shift(s).
  • Organize work to meet multiple tasks.
  • Interact with other departments to help meet customer needs and complete orders on time and on schedule.
  • Understand and follow the SOP’s pertaining to your area.
  • Effectively, train and coach operators on processes.  Actively identify and correct others who are not performing a process according to the instructions.
  • Staffing and supervision of, up to 8, manufacturing personal which includes hiring, orientation and holding of team meetings.
  • Good working knowledge of quality management system (QHSES), assist with customer complaint, nonconformance and audit finding resolution.
  • Ability to perform physical labor (drum, pail and bag, material handling)
  • Safely perform operating tasks using a variety of chemical processing equipment
  • Interpret data from process instrumentation.
  • Complete and maintain comprehensive records and production logs.
  • Support and observe 5S and other lean manufacturing methodologies.                  
  • Ability to safely operate forklift in a plant environment.
  • Utilize the SAP system to review process orders for correct inventory levels.
  • Produce quality products to meet customer satisfaction.
  • Advanced knowledge of pumping operations, tank operations and filtration systems.
  • Cycle count and Physical Inventory activities and scheduling.
  • Ability to acknowledge process improvements.

 

Skills That Make a Difference:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 6 months of industrial experience
  • Basic math and reading skill.
  • Good computer skills
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions.
  • SAP experience

 

Considered a Plus:

  • Previous forklift/scissor lift operation
  • Knowledge of chemistry and chemical hazards
  • Knowledge of business and chemistry
  • Knowledge of pumping operations, tank operations, and filtration equipment
  • Previous experience in a team-based work environment
