Starting this summer, this role will give you the opportunity to gain the skills and knowledge needed to ensure the safe operation of a complex plant manufacturing facility, in producing a range of active ingredients for the chemical industry.

To support you’re on the job learning you will complete a Level 3 Science Manufacturing apprenticeship over 3 years. This is the perfect opportunity to earn while you learn and gain a valuable qualification alongside real-life work experience.

What Will Be Your Environment:

The Huddersfield Plant is situated in Yorkshire, with <50 employees

Our site specialises in the manufacture of additives for Lubrizol Performance Coatings. Working to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO-14001:2015 standards, the plant specializes in manufacturing both aqueous and solvent based resins, polymers, dispersants and adhesion promoters for the metals and coatings industries.

Working with our customers, we produce essential ingredients in the formulation of organic and inorganic pigments used in the paints and coatings, printing inks, plastics, wood finishing and metal coatings industries. Our products give the end user extremely efficient particle dispersion, particle size stability and provide the highest level of appearance and performance. The products manufactured at Huddersfield are widely used across the world.

What You'll Do:

As a Science and Product Manufacturing Apprentice with Lubrizol you’ll be involved in:

• Chemical processing
• Production planning
• Engineering
• Warehouse and Dispatch
• Laboratory analysis
• Quality and health and safety
• Continuous Improvement

You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life.

What We're Looking For:

 A strong team player with a focus on results

• Someone that has an interest in the manufacturing industry
• Someone that is keen to continue to learn and develop new skills

Skills That Make a Difference:

• Previous work experience (beneficial but not essential)

• Minimum 5 GCSEs (actual or predicted) grade 9-4 (A*-C) including:
• Maths and English grade 5-6 (B) or above

• At least one science or technical subject grade 4 (C) or above
