What You'll Do:

 

As a Maintenance Superintendent, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation by implementing and leading all functions of the Millwright, Pipe Fitting/Welding, Instrumentation/Electrical and Support Craft(s) disciplines. The Maintenance Superintendent focuses on the effectiveness, reliability, and efficiency of Lubrizol’s Mechanical assets at the Elmendorf facility. Maintenance Superintendent ensures that work is done in a safe and environmentally sound working environment, and that work is accomplished in an economical and timely manner. Maintenance Superintendent provides the leadership for the Maintenance department to ensure that both short term and long-term planning and goals are accomplished. This opportunity is necessary to provide the focus and priority for the Maintenance department on the issues at hand, and to serve as a responsible and accountable source for the overall performance of the Elmendorf Maintenance department

 

What We're Looking For:

  • Leads a team of mechanics and a Maintenance Supervisor and provides an environment that promotes safety, inclusion, and teamwork. Establishes and drives clear goals and objectives within the team. 
  • Manage the mechanical integrity (MI) program. Ensures all mechanical equipment is maintained in accordance with ASME, ANSI, and API standards as well as environmental regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, etc.) and in accordance with ISO and Responsible Care.
  • Lead the reliability strategy which includes PM optimization, spare parts, etc. Responsible for the performance of the predictive maintenance program. Drives a culture of reliability from engineering to execution of work.
  • Responsible for the overall health of the maintenance work management process. Drives KPI’s with team.
  • Responsible for efficient turnaround processes which includes scoping, planning, execution, and closure.
  • Manage the maintenance department expense budget. Activities include but are not limited to preparing and controlling the expense budget for the department.
  • Create, update, and maintain process flow diagrams for all manufacturing systems, PIDs for all plant systems, and process safety management documentation related to manufacturing equipment.
  • Capital project management.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Skills That Make a Difference: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical or electrical engineering is required.
  • 5 years working in maintenance at a chemical/refining/petrochemical plant with 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic maintenance work processes.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement systems. 
  • Experience with implementing maintenance processes.
  • Experience with SAP.
