What You'll Do:

 

As a Safety & Health Manager, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation by providing strategic and tactical leadership in the development and implementation of facility safety & health programs and initiatives to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, corporate/industry standards that are consistent with Lubrizol’s Health, Safety, Environmental & Security philosophy.  

 

What We're Looking For:

  • Manage Safety & Health compliance for the facility by overseeing programs, initiatives, and metrics in support of RCMS / RC14001 and company goals. 
  • Manage department staff of professionals & specialists to execute processes and policies to ensure facility compliance to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manage department staff through regular engagements and create an enriching work environment with job assignments to support growth and development.
  • Leadership to identify, prioritize, develop, and implement department activities to support facility goals and objectives.
  • Leadership to drive accountability with standard work practices and procedures, supporting a culture of continuous improvement with Safety & Health results.
  • Leadership for assessment, development, and implementation of facility safety systems. Activities include but are not limited to assess of Safety & Health performance; develop practical, effective solutions for improvement; and implement those solutions (including training).
  • Engagement (office and plant) with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality and Training departments providing support with regulatory compliance and development of solutions related to safety, industrial hygiene, training, incident investigations and recordkeeping. 
  • Develop and conduct applicable studies and associated reports to document evaluation of workplace hazards and mitigation strategies to reduce or eliminate hazards. 

 

Skills That Make a Difference: 

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Safety & Health Management, Environmental Health, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • 10 years’ experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • 5 years of demonstrated leadership experience leading/managing cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working in and leading industrial safety and health programs (RCMS / RC14001).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office. 
  • Experience with SAP is preferred but not required. 
  • Certified Safety Profession (CSP) is preferred but not required.
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is preferred but not required.
  • Certified Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST) is preferred but not required.
  • Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) is preferred but not required.
