What You'll Do:

As a Strategic Marketing Manager, Global Medical Business supporting our Medical Solutions business, your entreprenuerial marketing and business development will help drive results. You'll have a specific focus on market strategy development and engagement with startups in the medical device industry. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for identifying and building new business opportunities in Lubrizol’s medical business by becoming a trusted subject matter expert and building relationships within the medical device startup and clinical ecosystems. You will develop go-to-market strategies to address market needs and build strategic relationships with external customers to drive long term growth for the business. As part of this role, you would:

 

  • Identify, develop, and implement new business opportunities, solutions, and go-to-market strategies that leverage Lubrizol’s value proposition in the medical device industry.
  • Focus on engaging within startup ecosystem and clinical communities to identify market trends, startup companies, and key technologies that can utilize Lubrizol’s capabilities.
  • Develop target market and customer strategies to drive win-win solutions for potential customers and Lubrizol.
  • Educate stakeholders in the medical device industry on industry-related updates and trends through presentations and other educational activities at clinical tradeshows and customer summits,
  • Identify, negotiate, and implement innovative business models (fee based development, licensing, captive manufacturing, etc.) to ensure Lubrizol materials and manufacturing are selected for use in next generation medical devices in our target markets.
  • Build and manage a sales/project pipeline to win new custom support/development projects (TPU) and design and development opportunities (CM).  
  • Build in-depth relationships with potential customer organizations in the medical device industry, keeping abreast of competitive and M&A activity.
  • Make recommendations for product selection based on performance requirements and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Providing commercial leadership to technical teams and marketing on evaluation of emerging technologies.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments and external partners to understand and maximize new business opportunities within the medical device industry.
  • Collaborate with technology team to introduce new capabilities to address market and customer needs

 

Skills That Make a Difference: 

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
  • 7+ years of engineering, sales and/or marketing experience
  • Ability to travel: up to 50%

 

What Will Put You Ahead:

  • Knowledge of technical/engineering sales and processes within the medical device industry.
  • Experience in a B2B sales environment with an emphasis on relationship-building within the medical device industry.
  • Knowledge and skill with sales software tools such as CRM, Excel, PowerPoint within the medical device industry
